Get involved in your neighorhood

Broadmoor runs on the volunteer efforts of its residents. Here's how you can get involved:

1. Go next door and meet your neighbors. Stay in touch with them. The Little Rock Police Department time and time again tells us that watching out for each other is the key to crime prevention.

2. Participate in the neighborhood watch. E-mail me at the address below, and I'll get you involved.

3. Attend monthly Broadmoor meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. We meet at the clubhouse. The board is made up of volunteers, and we are always appreciative of new participants.

4. Show up for volunteer activities. We have plenty. Pool and park work days are some examples.

5. Participate in UALR's University District effort. See the links on our Web page.

6. Do you part to keep the neighborhood clean and nice.

National Night Out August 4

The evening of August 4th, 2009 is National Night Out. This is a great opportunity for neighbors to spend an evening with one another to get acquainted or reacquainted and talk about your neighborhood. National Night Out is an anti-crime event for heightening crime and drug prevention awareness. Neighborhood groups can generate support and participation in anti-crime efforts like Neighborhood Watch, safety committees, safe seniors, safe children etc. No one knows your neighborhood better than you. If you have an event, emphasize what your residents can do in your neighborhood to reduce the chance of becoming a victim.
