Heavy rains-emergency spillway functions

With about 4.5 inches of rain in Broadmoor on October 28 and 29, intense rains the evening of the 29th were released from Broadmoor Dam's emergency spillway. The spillway is the first and only labyrinth spillway in Arkansas. It draws excess water off the lake during heavy rains.

NUSA Neighborhood Pride Tour meeting new location

The Adult Leisure Center is a total lose due to fire, so, the NUSA Neighborhood Pride Tour meeting for Thursday, October 22 will be held at the Willie Hinton Community Center at 6-8:00 p.m.

This meeting is very important! We will have people available to help with your questions, help with your application, and help you with the neighborhood descriptive write-up that is required for the registration booklet. You will also be given tips and help forms that will simplify your tour process. Please make every effort to attend, time is ticking.

Reminder: deadlines for neighborhood tours - (if you have these completed I'll gladly take them early)

Dec. 1 @ 4 p.m. for the Write-up for the registration booklet

Neighorhood Connections Meeting October 24

Here's the agenda for the upcoming Neighborhood Connections meeting. Note that yard parking will be discussed. Broadmoor adopted a resolution several years ago to support the adoption of an ordinance to prohibit parking cars on lawns. The city has not taken action on that draft ordinance yet.

Northwest Patrol Northwest Patrol Division Quarterly Meeting October 22

The Little Rock Police Department's Northwest Patrol Northwest Patrol Division Quarterly Meeting will be held on October 22nd, 6:30 P.M. at the Northwest Substation, 10,001 Kanis Road. The station is near Baptist Hospital.

Please attend. These meetings are great opportunities to meet and ask questions of the officers who patrol our area.

Upcoming University District Steering Committee meeting

Please mark your calendars for the Fall meeting of the UDP SteeringCommittee scheduled for 10 A. M. on Tuesday, October 27. The meeting agenda will include an update on UDP program initiatives,including the housing rehab program being implemented by the UniversityDistrict Development Corporation, the youth development initiative beingstaffed by AmeriCorps Members, and the University District Education Networkinitiative.

Northwest Patrol Division Meeting

The Little Rock Police Department, Northwest Patrol Division, which includes Broadmoor, will hold its next quarterly meeting on October 22 at 6:30 p.m.

These are very informative meetings, where our police department tells us about recent activity. Officers will answer questions from the public. Please attend to find out what is going on and to show support for the people who protect us.
