National Night Out August 4
The evening of August 4th, 2009 is National Night Out. This is a great opportunity for neighbors to spend an evening with one another to get acquainted or reacquainted and talk about your neighborhood. National Night Out is an anti-crime event for heightening crime and drug prevention awareness. Neighborhood groups can generate support and participation in anti-crime efforts like Neighborhood Watch, safety committees, safe seniors, safe children etc. No one knows your neighborhood better than you. If you have an event, emphasize what your residents can do in your neighborhood to reduce the chance of becoming a victim.
