The Central Texas United Methodist Church Conference is coming to central Little Rock June 10 to 16. They will be covering the costs and providing the labor to preform 30 to 35 projects.

Projects can include:

Yard Work
Handicapped Ramps
Painting (Exterior and Interior)
Dry-Wall
Flooring
Roofing
Porches/Deck Repair

The work will be preformed on Owner Occupied Homes. Do you want a Free Home Repair?

Infrastructure Improvements in Park and Pool

Broadmoor volunteers worked with a contractor to repair the sinkholes caused by a storm drain pipe running across the park. Just below the pool area several holes opened in the last year during heavy rains.

The last 14’ of the pipes were completely blocked, which was the major cause of all the back-up. They re-cemented around the all the pipe seams on the outside and mortared on the inside to prevent water from catching in the joins and undercutting.

The contractor will be back in a couple weeks to check for settling of dirt and will top off with dirt if needed. He is also going to give us an estimate on repairing the area up by the street where the manhole cover is damaged and the sidewalk is heaving.

A fence contractor will be making improvements around the pool before the Memorial Day weekend pool opening. If you have not seen the beautiful new pool deck, please take a stroll through the park and take a look.

Growing a Healthy Community

to attend a free garden training and informational seminar on:

UALR Alumni Bailey Center

We will deliver and construct 30 free individual raised garden beds with vegetable plants
during the week of June 11.

In order to qualify for a garden you must register between
May 11-18, 2012 and attend the mandatory garden training on Monday, May 21, 2012.

Gardens will be given to the first 30 residents who did not receive a garden last summer – one garden per household.

Note: residents who received a garden last year may participate in the garden training session.
