Fair Park Burglaries

There have been a couple of recent burglaries where a woman is seen walking a dog, and she goes up to a house. She rings the doorbell, and if no one answers, she makes a call on her cellphone. A few minutes later, a blue van pulls up into the driveway, and three males are seen getting out. They are seen later coming out of the house carrying stolen items. We are working on getting a license number for these burglaries, so please call 911 immediately if you see anything like this.

Respectfully,

Be on the Lookout!

Please call 911 if you see anyone or anything suspicious!

On June 4 about 10:45 in the morning, a Lakeshore Drive resident was robbed by 3 teenagers in his front yard.

About 45 minutes earlier, a UALR employee was attacked by 3 teenagers near the Shell station on 32nd. His account is below:

"I wanted to share with you a rather unfortunate incident that occurred to me on Tuesday morning, June 4th, at around 10am, as I came into work. I had parked my vehicle along W 32nd St near Faith United Church and was walking along the sidewalk approaching the Shell Station on South University across from campus. As I approached the service road that runs behind the gas station and various fast food places, I noted three teen aged youths (about 16-17 years of age) walking along this service road and within just a few feet of where it feeds onto W32nd St. I paid no particular attention to them and walked on past. I had not gone very far before I was attacked from behind by two of them and received a number of blows to the back of my head. One of the others came at me from the front. I stood my ground and managed to fight them off and they retreated. I managed to make it to the parking lot of the Shell station when I removed my phone from my pocket in order to call the police. I looked up just in time to see the older youth running at me who then proceeded to punch me in the face. This all happened in broad daylight and within full view of a number of spectators at the station. Robbery did not appear to be their motive. Judging from their behavior it is my personal opinion that they initiated this attack simply for the pleasure of it. It is the totally senseless nature of this attack along with its brutality that disturbs me the most about it. Given the proximity to this campus and the fact that a number of our students, faculty and staff walk through this very same area on both a daily and nightly basis I felt it prudent to share this info with you and to advise you to be on your guard while in the vicinity. I did file a report with LRPD but I do not expect any immediate arrests to me made."
