Downtown Patrol Division 4th Quarter Meeting

Broadmoor is in the Northwest Patrol Division, but this meeting may be of interest to residents.

The Downtown Patrol Division 4th Quarter Meeting is Thursday, December 11, 6:30pm at the Willie Hinton Resource Center located at 3805 W. 12th Street. This meeting is for Districts 40, 41, 42, 43, 50, 51, 52, 53, and 54. Or generally, those that reside east of University Ave. and north of 39th Street to City limits.

The purpose and objective of Patrol Division Quarterly Neighborhood meetings:
Provide a forum for concerned Citizens to hear crime statistics and crime trends in their respective patrol division areas; Discussion on progress of arrests and investigations; To share success stories, accomplishments and to commend officers for outstanding performance; And, an opportunity for Citizens to express concerns.

Secure to be Sure campaign: Secure your Home, Car and the items inside to be Sure a thief will pass you by. We are promoting this campaign throughout the holiday season to stimulate awareness among Citizenry on how to secure your personal items as well as yourself from criminals. Reduce your chances of becoming a victim of burglary or auto breaking and entering. The Secure to be Sure brochures are available at any Little Rock Police Department Substation or kiosk, all Central Arkansas Library System Branches, Central Arkansas Water's main office and Neighborhood Alert Centers.

Building on last year's successful contest, Broadmoor will award cash prizes for outstanding Christmas decorations again this year.

First Place - $75
Second Place - $50
Third Place - $25

Winners will be selected the third week of December.

Neighborhood Watch

Nosy neighbors are the key to keeping a safe neighborhood. Our neighborhood watch program, headed up by board member Steve Sullivan, is an effort to encourage neighbors to watch out for each other. We also use it to communicate in person, by e-mail, and by telephone. To get on the list, please contact Steve at stevesullivan77@yahoo.com or 944-9297.

Grant adds playground equipment for youngsters

The City of Little Rock recently awarded Broadmoor a matching grant to buy playground equipment for the "little kids" area of Broadmoor Park. We have purchased a nice play set and mulch for the fenced in area near the picnic tables. Volunteers will assemble the set soon. To help, e-mail edwardswaim@yahoo.com.
