Home Improvement Assistance

Homeowners may be eligible for assistance to make improvements to their homes through a partnership between the City of Little Rock's Department of Housing and Neighborhood Programs, CDBG & Housing Division and World Changers, Inc.

World Changers, Inc., is a faith-based nonprofit organization that will provide volunteers to work on homes during the summer of 2013.  The work may include  minor exterior repairs, and exterior painting.  To apply for assistance homeowners must meet the following criteria:

-Must be at least 62 years of age or disabled
-Must own and occupy the home
-Must meet the income guidelines for the program
-Please provide proof of income and ownership of the home. 
-Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Final selection of the homes to be repaired will be made by World Changers staff.

 
The City of Little Rock will be accepting applications until April 1, 2013 at the following location:

Help Bring the Tech Park to the University District

TIME is CRITICAL – ACT TODAY

The Little Rock Technology Park Authority Board has scheduled a
meeting for Wednesday, 2-13-13 at 4 pm., to work on selecting a site
for the development.

The Asher/University Site need send their emails and letters of
support before the Tech Park meeting.

A large showing of people in support of our site is important!

Items that you may wish to share concerning the Asher/University Site are:
•       Immediate adjacency to the UALR Campus.
•       Access to a combined 2.4 terabyte bandwidth and direct access to the
Arkansas Research and Educational Optical Network.
•       The shortest distance to UAMS and ACH.
•       The opportunity for a phased development strategy with the first
phase property being available immediately.
•       Immediate income to the Authority from Village Shopping Center
tenants occupying property that can be developed in later phases.
•       Approximately 150,000 square feet of retail office space that can be
used for interim or temporary facilities.
•       No displacement of residents.
•       Full support by the neighborhoods in the University District.

Truancy–Call 911

See school-aged kids out and about during the day? Please do your neighborhood a service and call 911.

Police will pick them up if they are out between 9 a.m. and 3:45.

City Ordinance 16,564, Section 17.5-25:

"It shall be unlawful for any minor to be upon the streets, sidewalks, parks, playgrounds, public places and vacant lots, or to ride in or upon, drive or otherwise operate or be a passenger of any automobile, bicycle, or other vehicle in, upon, or over or through the streets, or other public places between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, or 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m., Friday and Saturday. An amendment to this ordinance also provides for a daytime curfew to apply to these same circumstances, during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday."
