Grand Re-Opening For Adult Leisure Center/Centre at University Park
Originally known as the Adult Leisure Center, a grand-opening celebration has been planned for the Centre at University Park on Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m.
Mayor Mark Stodola, Vice Mayor Doris Wright, City Manager Bruce Moore and other dignitaries will be on hand for the celebration. Tours will be conducted throughout the afternoon.
“This is a great day for the City of Little Rock,” said Truman Tolefree, Director of Little Rock Parks & Recreation. “The Centre at University Park is back as a much needed community resource.”
The Centre is a 15,000-square foot state-of-the art facility. It offers daily and monthly memberships to adults, while providing several activities, including: National Senior Health and Fitness Day, seminars, Fall Festival and Holiday Affair to name a few. In addition, a number of fitness classes will be offered.
The facility will be available for rental for meetings, family gatherings or special events. There is the spacious Ballroom that can accommodate 230 persons, or can be divided for smaller groups. There is also a multi-purpose room, ceramics and arts and crafts rooms, meeting rooms, conference room, and a computer training room.
For more information about the grand opening, or about renting the facility, please call the Centre at University Park at 661-1700 or Little Rock Parks & Recreation 371-4770 or visit our website at www.lrpr.org.
