You may have read or heard about an April 19 incident on Broadmoor Drive. The way it is being reported, it sounds like a random home intrusion robbery committed by criminals posing as police.
However, "the rest of the story," as fans of Paul Harvey would know, is often telling.
The neighborhood association has spoken with the Little Rock Police Department and learned that the incident was not random, the criminals were looking for a specific person, and SEVERAL alert neighbors immediately called 911 and gave great descriptions of the bad guys. This information should lead police to the suspects.
We should all remain alert, take the usual precautions to make our homes safe, and look out for our neighbors. We should not panic.
Here are three things you can do this week:
If you would like to have your home inspected by the Little Rock Police Department and find out what you can do to make it more secure, contact Officer Michelle Hill at mhill@littlerock.org or directly by phone at 371-4634.
To hear first hand what Police are doing in our area, attend a quarterly LRPD meeting. The Northwest Patrol Division, which includes Broadmoor, will hold its next quarterly meeting this Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at 10,001 Kanis Road.
Adjutant Sergeant Zebbie Burnett asks that Broadmoor residents attend for what he promises will be a great presentation.
Get out and visit with your neighbors. Make sure you know each other and watch out for each other. Nosy neighbors are our number one way to stay safe!
