The LRPD will also check on your home while you are on vacation, call
371-4829. The patrol officer on each shift in will come to your house
and check on it.
Most residential burglaries occur during the day when the house is
obviously unoccupied. Having a car in the carport, leaving a radio on,
having interior lights on timers, are all things you can do to
discourage burglars looking for opportunities.
You should take some common sense steps to reduce your vulnerability
to burglary. The single most effective deterrent in our neighborhood
is making sure entries to your home are visible to your neighbors, and
that your neighbors know you and know when someone is in your yard who
should not be there.
