Little Rock Police tips for times when you leave home during the holidays:
- -Make sure that all windows and doors are secured and locked.
- -Leave a light and radio on.
If you are traveling out of town:
- Call the Police non-emergency number, 371-4829 or 4830. To make a report over the phone 501-371-4617. and ask for a "vacation home report." The police will patrol your home on every shift.
- Tell your neighbors when you are leaving and expect to be home.
- Stop your mail and newspaper or have a neighbor collect them daily.
In your car:
- Park in a well lighted area.
- Do not leave valuables in sight.
- Have your keys ready as you approach your car.
- Ask for an escort from the store if you have a number of packages or feel unsafe.
Lookout for your neighbors:
- Talk to them and understand their coming and going.
- Be watchful for unknown vehicles at their home.
- Report ALL suspicious behavior by calling 911, every time you see it.
When driving:
- Lock your car doors.
- Be mindful of the weather, watch for ice.
