Who: Parents, Educators and Community Leaders

When: Thursday, September 6th, 5:00-7:00pm

Where: Franklin Elementary School (1701 S. Harrison)

Why: To help improve child health care in Arkansas

What: You will be asked questions about issues such as

Health concerns for children in your community
Access to health and wellness care for children in your community
Resources available to keep children in your community healthy and safe

Purpose of the focus groups

The purpose of the study is to evaluate children’s health in Arkansas for Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Information gathered will be used by the hospital to develop strategies to improve child health in Arkansas through its Community Benefit work.

How the focus groups will work

Questions will be discussed within groups of 10-15 people. The group conversation will be videotaped, and notes will be taken. The facilitator will speak in English, but Spanish translators will be made available as needed to allow the facilitator to speak with Spanish-speaking participants. There will not be right or wrong answers, and we encourage you to freely discuss with your group. All information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used to improve child health care in Arkansas. The interview data and personal information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and will be kept on file at the study team’s office. Access to personal information will be restricted to the researchers only and will be secured electronically and physically in a locked office away from public access. The data will be compiled in a report, but no personal information will be included in the report.
