Interesting Crime Reports from all over Town

A recent grab-bag of reports put out by St. Charles Crime Watch:

From Point West:  On Sunday, it was reported that a lawn mower and an edger were stolen out of a shed sometime this week.  Be aware of anyone you don't recognize walking or driving around on your street.  (This happened on Wagon Wheel Court.)

From Midtown:  On Thursday 30th around 11:00 am, a resident reported a man who appeared to be casing the neighborhood with a lawn mower.  The resident heard it running for a short time on Harrison, north of Lee.  Then the guy pushed it across Lee and began mowing a strip of grass next to the street at a house a few doors down.  Then he disappeared.  When the resident encountered him again, he said he lived nearby and "mowed for the neighbor" when he was out of town.  Then he went north on Tyler and ran the mower a few minutes while he was going up that street, as well.  This man is white, about 30 years old, maybe a little older.  He was about 6 feet, wearing gray clothes, a gray baseball cap, has red hair, and a well trimmed red beard.  The police were notified.

There was a burglary reported on Thursday on Greenbrier Road, somewhere between 10:00 and 2:00.  The police were notified.

From The Ranch:  They now have surveillance cameras up and running in their neighborhood.  There were a few ATV's stolen this past weekend.  Remember to contact the LRPD and file a report, no matter how annoyed you are, or whether or not you think there is a chance of recovering your stolen property.  If they don't know where the thieves are operating and what they are taking, they can't catch them.

There has also been a report of people stealing mail from mailboxes in that area.  A few weeks ago, a resident saw a black male about 40-50 years of age with a 10-12 year old boy opening a neighbor's mailbox from the passenger side of a brown 2000-ish Dodge Caravan around 7:30 am on a weekday.  They have not been seen since, but this is something that happens periodically all over town.  The weekend mail carrier reported seeing mail items from Hilltop addresses in the street on Ranch Boulevard, so someone is throwing away what they don't want.  Please report anything suspicious, in timely manner so they can catch these guys.

From Fair Park:  A recent report of trouble with a speeding teenager on Fillmore reminds us all of what to do in that situation.  The police would advise you not to confront these individuals, as tempers can flare easily.  Report it when you can, take a picture with your cellphone of the license plate, and report details so that they can be addressed.  The more neighbors that report the same thing, the stronger case you have of getting speeders, litterers, etc., to be held accountable for these problems they are causing.
