LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 2, 2012) – As part of their National Night Out celebration the University District Neighborhoods Association will be awarding the University District’s; Little Rock Police Officer of the Year, Little Rock Fire Fighter of the Year and UALR Police Officer of the Year.
The neighborhoods will also be recognizing Little Rock Housing Code Enforcement Officer Kobe Tworivers who passed away in August. Code Officer Tworivers had been an important contributor to the neighborhood’s advancement.
The University District’s National Night Out will be held October 2, 2012 at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Welcome Center in the University Plaza. The celebration will run from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm, with the awards being presented at 6:00 pm. The event will include food & drink, games for children & adults and many information tables by various agencies.
The University District Neighborhood Association is made up of ten neighborhoods that surround the University of Arkansas at Little Rock including; Broadmoor, Broadmoor North, College Terrace, Curran-Conway, Fair Park, Oak Forest, Point O’ Woods, South of Asher, University Park and War Memorial neighborhoods. They are all committed to improving the area through positive actions.
